I have a couple of announcements, to keep everyone updated.

31 Prayers for Healing“31 Prayers for Healing” is on sale for the Kindle for $2.99. This is a significantly better deal than the $8.99 for the print edition, but it has the downsides of not being a physical book and being hard on the eyes if you don’t, in reality, own a Kindle. Computer screens are not great for long-term reading. Remember that.

“31 Prayers for Courage,” the first book in the series, is now a mere 99¢ for the Kindle! This is great news for anyone holding off because31 Prayers for Courage Cover $2.99 was too expensive. At $0.99, that’s $2 off the regular price for the Kindle, not to mention that you don’t have to wait for shipping. You don’t even have to own a Kindle, if you’re okay with the whole reading-on-a-computer-screen thing. (It still costs $8.99 in print, though.)

“31 Prayers for Healing” Released!

“31 Prayers for Healing” is now available for purchase from our eStore! It will be released on Amazon in print soon; it is already available for the Kindle.

If you are curious about my choice for the cover of “31 Prayers for Healing,” it was a selection influenced, in part, by my wife. The color and content of the image resonated, for her, with healing. This should not be unfamiliar to us, since water is clean and pure and much needed for medicine, especially the fresh water of a pool or river. This is also a Scriptural idea, that waters are associated with healing and with life (Judges 15:19, Ezekiel 47:9, and the Gospel of John chapters 4 and 7, for example).

“31 Prayers for Healing” Cover Completed

31 Prayers for Healing CoverThe cover design for “31 Prayers for Healing” has officially been completed! You can see the thumbnail to the right in this post, as well as part of the animated image in the top-right of the webpage, and on the official purchase page for the website. The book itself is nearing completion. It still needs to be typed, formatted, and submitted for publication.

(Yes, that means that I hand-write these books initially, then type them up. I’m old-fashioned.)

The Scripture prayers for this book focus, as its title suggests, on the theme of healing. Of course, healing does not come from God via prayer the way a soda comes from a machine via a few quarters. The prayers in this book not only pursue the hope of health and salvation from illness, but also the hope of righteousness and salvation from sin, and especially the hope of peace. Read more »

Updates

Two new updates to the website:

One, we now have 25 fans on Facebook, which means we get our own username. You can now find the 31 Prayers Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/31prayers. If you click the “Like” button up at the top right of this page, that is the Facebook page you will be “liking.” Thanks to all of our fans!

Two, I have added an image of the book cover for “31 Prayers for Courage” to the banner. As each book in the series is completed, its cover will be added to an animated image in that location. That image links to the purchase page.

The next installment in the series is coming along nicely; it’s mostly been written, but there is still quite a bit to go in the process. I will keep you updated!
