State of the Series, 20 August 2011

I have a couple of announcements, to keep everyone updated.

31 Prayers for Healing“31 Prayers for Healing” is on sale for the Kindle for $2.99. This is a significantly better deal than the $8.99 for the print edition, but it has the downsides of not being a physical book and being hard on the eyes if you don’t, in reality, own a Kindle. Computer screens are not great for long-term reading. Remember that.

“31 Prayers for Courage,” the first book in the series, is now a mere 99¢ for the Kindle! This is great news for anyone holding off because31 Prayers for Courage Cover $2.99 was too expensive. At $0.99, that’s $2 off the regular price for the Kindle, not to mention that you don’t have to wait for shipping. You don’t even have to own a Kindle, if you’re okay with the whole reading-on-a-computer-screen thing. (It still costs $8.99 in print, though.)

The little animation graphic in the top-right corner of your screen, which shows the covers of each of my books in a fading succession, has been modified. It is no longer an animated GIF linking to the Purchase page, but it is a fancy “widget,” added to the software of the website to show that animation and provide individual links to each of the cover’s pages. So if you click on it when it shows the cover for “31 Prayers for Healing,” it will take you to the purchase page for “31 Prayers for Healing,” but if you click on it when it shows the cover for “31 Prayers for Courage,” is will take you to the purchase page for “31 Prayers for Courage.” Easy, right? Much better than before, too.

I am well on my way through writing the next installment of the series, titled “31 Prayers for Marriage.” This one will be a little bit different; while the first two were intended for individuals or family units, “31 Prayers for Marriage” is intended specifically for married couples. Unmarried couples (or, more accurately, pre-married couples) could certainly read it, I suppose, but you/they should be aware that its topics and content are intended for married people. All that to say, “31 Prayers for Marriage” will probably be best if read with your spouse, instead of reading the book individually. So, I have… six (6) prayers left to write for that, and then there’s editing, cover design, publishing, and release. Maybe a month? No specific release date yet.

Will keep you updated.
